Paramore - Riot!

Sometimes the work of artists is remarkably simple - something so simple that a person will not even think of that while wondering what would be album cover of his favourite band. Then, something simple, almost shapeless, with fewer colors that anything before, comes out - a person is speechless, he smiles because his favourite band surprised him again with something unique and original.
This happened in 2007 with the famous punk-pop band Paramore when they released their album Riot! - becoming a huge success among young people and a fascinating piece of art in the collections of punk lovers. The cover looks almost like the notebook of a first grade student - a piece of paper with a single word written, seemingly, hundreds of time - Riot! is written all over the cover, randomly positioned with a bigger one in red color. Somehow the simplicity of these scratches are just unique - who would guess that something so original and at the same time so ordinary may attract the attention so much.
The album cover was created by the art director Mark Obriski and truly increased the success of the band. The same year thousands of albums were sold only during the first week after the release and fans adored it. Paramore are the punk band that has mainly younger fans, the music they create is directed into the meaning of life when you are young, the grey English everyday life that young people are suppressed under, the desire to escape that reality. This is why the randomness of their cover and the simplicity create one impression only - just one word is enough to describe the wish of an entire generation.
Riot is one of the many albums on my Samsung Galaxy S which I listen to often - it’s awesome!
